Come celebrate the first day of summer with us! We should be open for foraging strawberries sunrise to sunset. Starting in the late morning we will be setting up a simple model rocket launch pad. It is up to you to bring a rocket! We ask that only A8-3 Model Rocket Engines be used in your rocket build. If we have the time, we will have a pop up rocket building event prior.
We’ll have shade and seating on the observation deck. This will be a pot luck style get together. Think Summer food! If you’d like to eat or bring a dish to share, please bring your own plates/bowls/cutlery/cups.
Come join me for a presentation about astronomy, space exploration technology, and check out a few photos Phillip has taken at the observatory. ALL ages are welcome. I will have some simple activities for the busy minds and bodies.
Hope to see you there!

Every year we enjoy making treats for the wildlife. Come join us!
Bring hemp twine, apples, oranges, bird seed, nut/seed butter, and any other treat you think may be nice for the native species.
I also thought it would be fun to make collages as we think about what we want for the next year. I have lots of nature magazines and seed catalogs. Feel free to bring your own magazines, glue, and paper or an object to collage on.
I will have warm drink, a small fire, and possibly a light snack. Please bring your own reusable dishes if possible. Feel free to bring your favorite holiday treat to share.
The Moon is full at 4:01 a.m. on December 15th. Weather permitting, we will be watching the moon rise and possibly viewing with the telescope.
